Summary of the Conference
Conference was addressed primarily to young researchers, especially doctoral candidates and individuals planning their first research projects. It provided practical knowledge—from developing project ideas, finding suitable research funding calls, and creating consortia, to writing grant proposals, signing agreements, and implementing projects. The greatest emphasis was placed on the application stage.
In addition, during the conference, participants could make use of consultations with experts on funding programmes—national (e.g., research programmes, funds), structural, and international—held in the Creative Room of the Hydromechanics building.
The Conference Programme included three thematic panels:
-
“How to get money as a Young Researcher? Seeking grants and project opportunities”, featuring discussions and short presentations on obtaining research projects, using mobility schemes, and developing skills.

-
“How to develop (un)successful research grant proposals?”, in which the panelists shared their experiences—both successful applications and mistakes made along the way.

-
“Winning the proposal evaluation game: the reviewers’ perspective”, that is, insights from reviewers evaluating grant proposals.

The conference attracted considerable interest. Thanks to the participation of experienced practitioners as panelists, attendees received concrete guidance on how to avoid common mistakes in writing proposals, whom to collaborate with during project preparation, and what aspects reviewers pay particular attention to.
