On 12–13 February, Assessment Center sessions were held at Gdańsk University of Technology as part of the nationwide project “Universities of the Future”. The project is implemented by a consortium of 12 partner universities in cooperation with the project leader – theNational Centre for Research and Development.

The sessions brought together representatives of the National Centre for Research and Development, partner universities – Poznań University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University – as well as experts from Aseso, who took on the role of assessors evaluating the competencies of Gdańsk Tech students participating in the second stage of recruitment to the “Universities of the Future” project.

The group of assessors representing Gdańsk University of Technology included Dr Eng. Agnieszka Lendzion and MSc Eng. Agnieszka Krysiak. The meeting was opened by Prof. Mariusz Kaczmarek, Vice-Rector at Gdańsk University of Technology.

What is an Assessment Center?

Assessment Center is a competency evaluation method based on observing participants while they perform tasks simulating real-life professional and project situations. During the sessions, participants work individually and in teams, analyse case studies, and complete analytical and presentation tasks.

Each activity is observed by trained assessors who evaluate behaviours, teamwork, communication skills and decision-making abilities. This approach provides a comprehensive and practical insight into participants’ competencies, enabling the identification of both strengths and areas requiring further development.

What happens after the session?

Following the Assessment Center, each participant receives an individual competency report containing detailed feedback. The report highlights participants’ potential as well as areas for improvement, supporting further educational and professional development planning.

Within the “Universities of the Future” project, the Assessment Center results – combined with the evaluation of previously submitted applications and project ideas – will determine qualification for the next stage of the programme and the opportunity to continue developing an individualised education model.

The “Universities of the Future” project is implemented under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027, based on agreement no. FERS.05.01-IZ.00-0080/24.
