Young Researcher Day 2025 | Gdańsk University of Technology

The guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Research, prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz. An introduction to the ENHANCE Alliance was presented by prof. Justyna Lubośna from the ENHANCE Office at Gdańsk Tech and by Naveed Syed, Secretary General of ENHANCE, while the opportunities offered by ENHANCE for young researchers were outlined by Aleksandra Drelicharz from the ENHANCE Office. Subsequently, Paulina Chobot, a doctoral candidate at Gdańsk Tech, presented the results of the workshop activities, contributing to the planned future project ‘ENHANCE for and with Young Researchers’.

The panel discussion, moderated by prof. Ewa Lechman, Deputy Director of the Doctoral School for Development and Internationalisation, brought together representatives of the Alliance:

• Prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz, Vice-Rector for Research at Gdańsk Tech,
• Francisco Javier Martínez Sánchez, Administrative Manager of the Doctoral School at UPV,
• Arturo Winter, doctoral candidate at ETH Zurich,
• Miguel Delso Paez, doctoral candidate at Gdańsk Tech.

The panellists shared insights on how to leverage the potential of ENHANCE for academic exchange and partnership, including the role of young researchers in shaping international cooperation. The discussion sparked active engagement from the audience, who eagerly shared their own experiences with the beginnings of cooperation with their supervisors.

The first part of the event was hosted by Mateusz Glass from the Young Researchers Office.

After the lunch break, young researchers met for a scientific speed dating session moderated by Kareem Ahmed Fouad Ali Ayyad, a doctoral candidate at Gdańsk Tech.

This part of Young Researhers Day provided an opportunity for young scientists to establish contacts, exchange research interests and build relationships that can lead to further collaboration in the research community.

The event was organised by the staff of the Young Researchers Office with tremendous support from Gdańsk Tech doctoral candidates.
