Sixteen students have begun preparations for the next stage of the “Universities of the Future” project. During the first formal meeting, participants were introduced to the main objectives and challenges of the upcoming phase, as well as to their academic mentors. The event was officially opened by the project leader – Vice-Rector for Education, Dr. Eng. Mariusz Kaczmarek, Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology – who encouraged the students to work diligently and wished them success in launching startups and pursuing other initiatives.

The inaugural meeting for the next phase of the “Universities of the Future” project took place on May 13. Attending were students whose 10 innovative projects qualified for the next stage of development, along with members of the Project Team. The students now face several challenges, including:

  • developing an Individual Education Plan (IEP) in collaboration with their mentor,
  • preparing their projects for the implementation phase,
  • presenting and defending their projects before the Business Team for Innovative Education (BTIE).

Students will have the opportunity to implement their ideas with the support of personal mentors, academic and business experts, specially designed micro-courses, and personalized educational paths.

Following the formal part of the event, an internal training session for student mentors was held, focused on the development of IEPs, led by Vice-Dean Prof. Aleksandra Wiśniewska.

“Universities of the Future” is an initiative aimed at first-cycle (bachelor's level) students, designed to implement an innovative Model of Personalized Education (MPE). The project supports the development of original educational concepts across various types of universities, with the goal of testing their potential for broad application within the higher education system.
