prof. dr hab. Ewa Lechman

An economist and professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, affiliated with the university since 2002. A graduate in economics from the University of Gdańsk, she earned her PhD in 2007, habilitation in 2015 and the title of full professor in 2023. She has served as Vice-Dean for Development, headed doctoral studies and sat on numerous academic and rector’s committees.

Her research focuses on the diffusion of digital technologies, ICT development models, technological convergence and changes in financial markets. She is a recipient of several distinctions, including the “Emerald Literati” award and a co-author of research output that earned Gdańsk University of Technology nominations in the “Elsevier Research Impact Leaders” competition.

She leads and co-implements projects funded by Polish and international institutions. She is a co-editor of Telecommunications Policy and Societal Impacts and an expert for the National Science Centre (NCN), the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), Fulbright, and the Science Evaluation Committee. She is involved in international accreditation processes as well as activities of business communities and organizations supporting women.

dr inż. Damian Głowienka 

Dr. Damian Głowienka is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics at Gdańsk University of Technology, specializing in research on perovskite solar cells. His research focuses on the analysis and optimization of the performance and stability of semitransparent and tandem structures in perovskite solar cells. He leads national and international research projects, including the M-ERA.NET 3 and SONATA 20 grants funded by the National Science Centre, Poland, and heads the Hybrid Photoactive Materials Laboratory at Gdańsk University of Technology.

dr inż. arch. Joanna Badach

Joanna Badach in her research integrates urban design, environmental management, and international collaboration, developed through academic fellowships and project partnerships across Europe, the USA, and Asia. She has coordinated or co-developed numerous national and international projects, including Horizon Europe initiatives, strengthening interdisciplinary networks for sustainable urban development. Recently, she has been involved in coordinating and preparing international consortia proposals in cooperation with universities, municipalities, and other institutions, particularly within Horizon Europe RIA projects and the Driving Urban Transitions programme.

prof. dr hab. inż. Robert Bogdanowicz

Prof. Robert Bogdanowicz is Head of the Department of Optoelectronics at Gdansk University of Technology, where he leads the Laboratory of Innovative Materials and Devices. He specializes in diamond and nanocarbon materials research, managing projects funded by national programs, NATO, and Norwegian funds. He has authored over 250 publications and 6 patents with successful industrial implementations. 

dr hab. Danuta Gutowska-Owsiak, prof. UG

After graduating from the Medical University of Gdańsk, Danuta did her PhD in immunology at the University of Liverpool. Following that, she spent 8 years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (University of Oxford). She returned to Poland in 2017 to set up the Laboratory of Experimental and Translational Immunology at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG and MUG, where she developed a grant-funded programme of research centered around immunology, skin disease, and secreted extracellular vesicles.

prof. dr hab. inż. Tomasz Klimczuk

Tomasz Klimczuk is a physicist by training. He completed research internships abroad at the following institutions: the Institute of Physics at Leiden University in the Netherlands (2002); Princeton University (visiting research fellow, 2003–2005); Los Alamos National Laboratory (director-funded postdoctoral fellow, 2006–2009); and the European Institute for Transuranium Elements (grant holder, Joint Research Centre, EU) in Karlsruhe (2009–2012). He is the winner of the Start and Kolumb programmes of the Foundation for Polish Science. He was a PI of six projects granted by National Science Centre: SONATA BIS (1), OPUS (3) and HARMONIA (2). He has supervised PhD students who have led projects granted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education: Perły Nauki (1), Diamentowy Grant (2), and funded by NCN: Preludium  (2) and Etiuda (1). Expert in NCN, NAWA and FNP programmes. 

dr hab. inż. Aleksandra Parteka, prof. PG

Aleksandra Parteka, PhD with habilitation in Economics, specialises in international economics. A graduate of Sussex University and GdańskTech, obtained her PhD in Italy (UNIVPM).  She has been a Fulbright scholar and received scholarships from the Polish Science Foundation, CERGE EI ;  completed post-docs at the University of California, Berkeley and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. She has participated in 21 research projects, acting as Principal Investigator and Team Leader in 14 (including Horizon Europe and three NCN OPUS projects).

prof. dr hab. inż. Jacek Ryl

Jacek Ryl is a Full Professor of Materials Engineering and Head of the Division of Electrochemistry and Surface Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics, Gdańsk University of Technology. His principal research interests lie in applied electrochemistry, including electrochemical sensors and biosensors, electrolysis, electrocatalysis, corrosion, non-stationary process monitoring, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing technologies. His most notable awards include distinctions from the Polish Academy of Sciences (Division IV), the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the W.H. Nernst Award. Since 2022, he has been ranked among the world’s top 2% most cited scientists. He was the principal investigator or work package leader in numerous research projects (NCN OPUS, OPUS LAP, SONATA BIS, SONATA; MNiSW Iuventus+; NCBR POL-NOR). He is also frequently engaged as a reviewer for Polish (NCN, NCBR) and international funding agencies (European Commission, Slovak SRDA, Fulbright).

prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Walkowiak

Krzysztof Walkowiak has been a Full Professor at the Department of Systems and Computer Networks, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, since 2017. Since 2020, Krzysztof has served as Dean of the Doctoral School at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. In 2025, Krzysztof became a member of the Steering Committee of the EUA-CDE (European University Association - Council for Doctoral Education). His research interests include network optimization, the application of machine learning to networking, optical networks, 5G/6G systems, intent-based networking, and TinyML.
