[3rd and 4th-year PhD students] Doctoral examination
Please be informed that all PhD students are obliged to pass a doctoral examination no later than in the 4th year of PhD training. The exam verifies your knowledge at an advanced level in the discipline in which the PhD training is conducted. The exam is organized by the Discipline Council / Field Council / Scientific Council of the institute, supervising education at the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, and its result is confirmed in the examination report.

4th year PhD students: You need to take the exam no later than on 12.06.2026. In case of failure, you will be able to retake the exam after 14.09.2026.

3rd year PhD students can take the exam earlier than on their 4th year. Please contact Discipline Council / Field Scientific Councils in Council / the Institutes in advance in order to schedule the date.
Important: After the exam, please provide the Doctoral School office with a copy of the doctoral examination report.
