1. Economic and financial aspects of bankruptcies and restructurings. Bankruptcy prediction  

The research is theoretical and empirical in nature and concerns issues related to bankruptcy and restructuring processes, with particular emphasis on corporate and consumer bankruptcy prediction. The main research problems concern: searching for effective tools for forecasting bankruptcy risk, examining the causes and symptoms of bankruptcy, assessing the efficiency of bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings, investing in distressed companies.

The research is theoretical and empirical and deals with the role of financial markets in the economy, the structure and organization of financial markets, the efficiency of markets, the role of the various players in financial markets (i.e. governments, regulators, financial institutions, investment banks, security firms, institutional and retail investors) and the determinants of asset pricing and interest rates. This area involves also investment management and concerns among others investment policy and portfolio strategy. The complex nature of financial markets requires a researcher  to draw from the fields of statistics and econometrics in order to describe the movement in asset prices and returns as well as to obtain meaningful measures of risk.

The study is theoretical and empirical in nature and addresses issues related to the concept of a smart city and the construction of a modern model of financial transactions based on the concept of sustainable development. The main problems of the research are related to the search for more effective approaches to the organization of money circulation in society, the development of improved business models for a perfect society.
