First Aid in the Gdańsk Tech Library
How to call an ambulance?
  1. Call 999 or 112.
  2. The dispatcher will ask for the following details:
    • The place of the incident, the exact address.
    • What has happened? How many people are injured?
    • What is the condition of the injured person? (e.g., is he moving?, is he breathing?, is he conscious?)
    • Name, surname, approximate age of the injured person.
    • Name, surname of the person calling for help.
    • Contact phone number. This number will be given to the emergency medical response team. The emergency medical team's contact with the caller may make it easier to find the address or the shortest way to get there.
    • How to get to the scene? Will there be someone waiting for the ambulance?
  3. Remember: don't hang up before the dispatcher does.
  4. If you call for medical assistance on the premises of the Gdansk University of Technology, immediately inform the staff of the Security Office at ext. 14-32, or in person - the nearest porter/guard you meet. Guards, in order to efficiently direct medical assistance, must know in which facility and in what place the person waiting for help is located.

All printed instructions are available at the Gdańsk Tech Library Office, Main Building, room 100/1/2.

The function of company social labor inspector at the Gdańsk Tech Library is performed by Mr. Tomasz Sobczyk (Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics).
