[PhD Students and Candidates] Registration of newly admitted PhD students - office closure [24-30.09] | Gdańsk University of Technology

We would like to kindly inform you that the registration of newly admitted PhD students to the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology will take place from 24th-30th September 2024, therefore during this time the School office will be closed for 2nd - 6th year PhD students.

Please take the above information into consideration when requesting certificates/documents or having your applications accepted by the Doctoral School office in the Moja.PG system.

NOTE! Upon arrival in Poland, you will need 3 things for successful registration at the Doctoral School: 

• an account in a Polish bank - obligatory,
• Polish telephone number - obligatory,
• PESEL number - as soon as possible.

In order to obtain doctoral student status at our school, to receive a scholarship and to apply for insurance, you will need to:

1. arrive to Poland with a complete set of original hardcopies of the documents previously submitted as scans in the application system;
2. as a foreigner receive a formal administrative eDecision on admitting you to our doctoral school (see entry: Decisions on recruitment proceedings 2024/2025)
3. fill out and submit additional documents:

Documents must be provided in original hard copy and bear your signature due to the requirements of Polish Social Insurance Institution (Zakład Ubezpieczeń Zdrowotnych - ZUS), so you should fill them out AFTER you arrive in Poland and open an account with a Polish bank.

Due to the fact that the beginning of PhD training formally takes place on 1st October 2024, this date can be entered as the earliest date possible to be covered by ZUS insurance in ZUS forms.

Documents will be accepted on 24-30 September 2024, during office hours only:

• Monday 10:00-13:30  
• Tuesday 10:00-13:30   
• Wednesday closed
• Thursday 8:00 am - 11:30 am 
• Friday 8:00-11:30 

NOTE! For foreigners who may appear at the university at a later date (according to the admissions schedule), documents will be accepted on an ongoing basis, after earlier notification of arrival and appointment for verification of documents.
