We warmly encourage you to submit your application for FameLab Poland 2025, which will take place on 13–14 October 2025 in Katowice.

FameLab is one of Europe’s most renowned science communication events, with the United Kingdom (Cheltenham Science Festival) as its lead partner. The finalists of FameLab Poland – including students, doctoral candidates and PhD holders – will have three minutes to inspire the jury and audience with their scientific passion.

Applications

The application window for FameLab Poland 2025 is open from 15 June to 15 September 2025. In the first stage, an international jury will select the semifinalists from all applicants. These semifinalists will take part in a professional science communication workshop delivered by European experts, held on 13–14 October 2025. The national final of FameLab Poland will take place on 14 October 2025 in Katowice, where the finalists will present their scientific projects. The winner of FameLab Poland will represent Poland in the FameLab International Final at CERN headquarters in Geneva.

The top three participants will receive cash prizes with a total pool of at least 20,000 PLN.

A Global Phenomenon

FameLab was launched in 2005 in Cheltenham, UK, as part of the Cheltenham Science Festival, and quickly gained popularity around the globe.

FameLab events are currently held in countries such as the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Malaysia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.

In Poland, FameLab was organised from 2012 to 2021 by the British Council Foundation, in collaboration with the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw. Nearly 650 people participated in the Polish editions – many of whom became outstanding science communicators.
