A Graduate of our Doctoral School among the Recipients of the MINIATURA 9 Call
MINIATURA is a funding scheme of the National Science Centre (NCN) aimed at researchers holding a doctoral degree and employed at Polish scientific institutions. It offers grants ranging from PLN 5,000 to 50,000 to support individual research activities, such as preliminary and pilot studies, library and archive queries, research internships, research visits, and consultation visits.
The primary objective of the call is to support researchers who have not yet served as principal investigators in research projects. The awarded activities are intended to help prepare future project proposals to be submitted in NCN, national, or international competitions.
Dr Eng. Artur Gańcza earned his doctoral degree in June 2024 in the discipline of automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies [AEEiTK]. His PhD dissertation, supervised by Prof. Maciej Niedźwiecki, DSc, Eng., from the Department of Signals and Systems, focused on methods for identifying systems with time-varying parameters.
Underwater acoustic communication in the research work of a graduate of the Doctoral School
Currently, he conducts research at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, focusing on robust identification methods for systems with parameters that change over time, as well as for nonlinear systems with time-dependent models. The methods he develops are primarily intended for applications in underwater acoustic communication.
He is also involved in interdisciplinary research conducted jointly with the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk Tech. This project concerns methods for evaluating and optimising the spatial distribution of green urban areas as a way to reduce flood risks. In his scientific work, Dr Gańcza collaborates with researchers from institutions such as the University of York, Politecnico di Milano, and Princeton University.
We warmly congratulate Dr Gańcza on receiving funding in the MINIATURA 9 call! This prestigious distinction not only confirms his strong research potential, but also opens up new opportunities for the development of innovative scientific projects. We wish him continued success and satisfaction in all his academic endeavours.
