Call for proposals for the PRELUDIUM 25 competition (until 16.06.2026)

x
The National Science Centre has announced the next edition of the PRELUDIUM competition for researchers without a PhD degree. This is an ideal opportunity for PhD students to gain valuable experience and fund their first, fully independent research project.

Applicants can apply for funding for projects involving basic research. The project duration can be 12, 24, or 36 months.

The proposal must be submitted electronically via the OSF system. Detailed information, competition documentation, and guidelines for applicants are available directly on the NCN website.

Who can apply?

The PRELUDIUM competition is addressed to early-stage researchers who do not yet hold a PhD degree. Importantly, unlike many other grants (such as OPUS), in this program, the NCN does not formally require applicants to have a prior publication record. You compete here exclusively with other young researchers, which makes PRELUDIUM the perfect place to get your first grant.

Important dates

For the grant handling process at Gdańsk University of Technology to run smoothly, proposals are subject to internal verification. The following schedule applies:

  • 02.06.2026 – submission of the proposal in the MojaPG system for PMC (Project Management Centre) verification;

  • 09.06.2026 – submission of the complete proposal for formal verification;

  • 16.06.2026, 2:00 PM – closing of the call for proposals in the OSF system.
