PhD Student Position in the CARBONEX-S Project | Gdańsk University of Technology

PhD candidate sought for the international research project CARBONEX-S for a period of 2 years, with a planned start date between July and October 2026.

The project brings together both academic institutions and an industrial partner. Politechnika Gdańska coordinates the consortium and includes the following:

• Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (Sweden)

• USP - Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil)

• University of Warwick (United Kingdom)

• Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Brazil)

• FineCell (Sweden)

The project focuses on the development of sustainable nanocellulose-carbon hybrid electrodes for advanced flexible supercapacitors, combining research in electrochemistry, functional materials, and sustainable energy storage technologies.

Terms:

• In addition to the standard doctoral scholarship provided within the Doctoral School, the PhD student will receive an additional funding of PLN 3,500 per month for 2 years under the project

• Opportunity for international mobility, including research stays and internships with project partners

• Opportunity to participate in international conferences

Requirements:

• MSc degree in Physical Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, or a closely related field with a strong background in electrochemistry

• The candidate should be a participant in the Doctoral School of Gdańsk University of Technology
