Everyone accepted to the Doctoral School (exept for PhD students holding a doctor's title) receives a doctoral scholarship for not more than four years of their education.
Doctoral scholarship amounts (updated pursuant to the Regulation of the Minister of Science of 14 April 2026 amending the regulation on the minimum monthly basic salary in a public higher education institution - Journal of Laws of 2026, item 525 - in Polish only):

at the beginning – amounting to 37% of a professor's salary (from 2026, this base is PLN 9,650.00 gross), i.e., PLN 3,570.50 gross,

and after mid-term evaluation – amounting to 57% of a professor's salary, i.e., PLN 5,500.50 gross.
A disabled PhD student receives a doctoral scholarship increased by 30% of the basic amount (before the mid-term evaluation)
Due to Regulation of the Rector of Gdańsk Tech No. 41/2022 of 27 May 2022 on introduction of an increase of the doctoral scholarship for doctoral students of Doctoral School at the Gdańsk University of Technology from the academic year 2022/2023, the amount of the increase for PhD students, valid for the academic year 2022/2023, is:
1) PLN 237,17 gross for first year PhD Students,
2) PLN 474,34 zł gross for second year PhD Students,
3) PLN 365,37 zł gross for third year PhD Students,
4) PLN 548,06 zł gross for fourth year PhD Students.

Please note that in certain cases related to the employment of a PhD student, the PhD student may lose the right to a doctoral scholarship or the amount of the scholarship may be reduced.
