Achievements of the Gdańsk University of Technology - exhibition | Gdańsk University of Technology

On December 4, in the hall in front of the Main Library, an exhibition opening presenting the Achievements of the Gdańsk University of Technology took place to celebrate the university's 120th anniversary.

Dr. Anna Dąbrowska, Director of the PG Library, and Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of PG, opened the exhibition. Dr. Mikołaj Sikała, a renowned composer and pianist, provided the musical accompaniment.

The exhibition's goal was to collect and commemorate the university's significant achievements, showcasing the history, role, and successes of its Faculties and Units over the years. Posters displayed the history of the Gdańsk University of Technology, profiles of rectors, distinguished professors, and students. Contemporary highlights included information about the university's high ranking and the Fahrenheit Universities Union.

A significant feature of the opening was the presentation of a priceless exhibit - an 18th-century manuscript (volume VII) by Christian Gabriel Fischer, recently recovered by our Library. The manuscript, part of a 12-volume work, is a key source for the history of modern European science.
