The Gdańsk University of Technology is one of the consortium members of the FIDELIS: Establishing a European Network of Trustworthy Digital Repositories project under Pillar I: Excellent Science - Research Infrastructures of Horizon Europe (competition: HORIZON-INFRA-2024-EOSC-01).

This is the first Research Infrastructure project under this program at the Gdansk University of Technology.

FIDELIS aims to establish a dynamic and self-sustaining network of trustworthy digital repositories (TDRs) to support an open scientific environment and guarantee data sharing in accordance with FAIR principles. The project, over its three-year duration, will strengthen the development of the network in the EOSC ecosystem by increasing the interoperability of repositories and creating standards and recommendations for long-term archiving of research data, among other things.

A team from Gdansk University of Technology, consisting of Magdalena Szuflita-Żurawska from the Library of Gdansk University of Technology as a project manager and Michał Nowacki from the IT Services Center, participates in the work of three work packages:

  • WP8 – Repository training and support: Initiating Network cohesion and expansion,
  • WP9 – Repository training and support: Strengthening the Network,
  • WP10 – Repository training and support: Consolidating the Network.

Among other things, the team will be responsible for identifying the needs of research data repositories in Europe and developing and implementing an effective training and mentoring system.

The project was officially launched in Helsinki on 04-06.02.2025.
