New Editions of Journal Citation Reports and CiteScore
The latest edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) from Clarivate was published at the end of June this year. The newest CiteScore metric from Elsevier (Scopus) is also now available.
Journal Citation Reports 2026 (Clarivate)
JCR database - this year's edition covers metrics for 22,643 journals across 254 subject categories. In the JCR 2026 edition, reflecting 2025 citation data, 521 journals from 47 countries and regions received a Journal Impact Factor (JIF) for the first time, of which 58% are based outside the United States and Western Europe. This edition continues directions established in previous years: extending JIF coverage to all journals in the Web of Science Core Collection, unifying journal rankings across subject categories, and excluding citations to and from retracted articles from JIF calculations. A further enhancement introduced in this edition is the visibility of journals labelled "Forthcoming" directly within the JCR interface -- these are titles for which metrics could not yet be calculated due to missing denominator content in Web of Science; users are automatically redirected to the most recent available metrics from the previous year.
Additional information is available on the Clarivate website
