BazTech is a bibliographic and abstract database that has been recording articles from Polish journals in the fields of technical sciences, exact sciences, and environmental protection since 1998. BazTech is developing into a full-text citation database. Bibliographies have been added to article descriptions since 2004, and full texts of publications have been added on the basis of agreements with publishers. These activities make the database part of the open science movement.
The objectives of creating the database
- to provide a complete and free source of information on the content of Polish technical journals
- to promote the achievements of Polish scientific and technical thought
- to support the open science movement by making full texts of publications available
- to support interlibrary loans.
