DAMAP-PL: Support for Data Management Planning
DAMAP (Data Management Plan Tool) is an open-source service designed to help researchers and data stewards create clear, consistent, and funder-aligned Data Management Plans (DMPs).
The service reduces the effort required to prepare DMPs by reusing information already available in external systems and services, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter the same information. Through structured guidance and machine-actionable outputs, DAMAP improves the quality of Data Management Plans while significantly reducing preparation time.
About the DAMAP-PL Project
TU Wien coordinates the project and provides expertise on the DAMAP software, leading its customisation, technical deployment support, service integration, and alignment with the requirements of the Polish research funding environment.
Cyfronet provides and operates the technical infrastructure for DAMAP, leading its deployment and integration with the EOSC-PL Node and related services.
Gdańsk University of Technology leads outreach, training, and stakeholder engagement activities by organising workshops and webinars, developing training materials, and fostering collaboration with researchers, data stewards, and the national RDM community.
Project Objectives
The DAMAP-PL project aims to:
- deploy DAMAP as a stable operational service within the EOSC-PL Node
- demonstrate its practical value through scientific use cases from diverse research domains
- develop a sustainability roadmap ensuring the continued operation and long-term availability of the service
Project Activities
DAMAP will be deployed on the EOSC-PL Node infrastructure, integrated with essential node services, and adapted to national requirements, including the Data Management Plan template used by the National Science Centre (NCN).
As part of the DAMAP–PL grant, users interested in adapting the tool to their institutional needs and funder requirements will take part in online and on-site workshops. Both workshops will be conducted in Polish.
Scientific use cases will validate the service in real research workflows and provide the foundation for training materials and workshops dedicated to the research community.
Evidence and experience gathered during deployment will contribute to a sustainability roadmap covering operational responsibilities, cost models, and legal conditions required for the long-term maintenance of the service. More information is available on the website: DAMAP-PL
