Scholarships for our doctoral students from Amazon Development Center Poland

We are pleased to announce that doctoral students of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology have been awarded prestigious scholarships from Amazon Development Center Poland Sp. z o.o. The award ceremony took place on March 4, 2025, at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics (WETI) at Gdańsk Tech.

The event was attended by Lucyna Chwastowska (Global Director, Amazon AGI Vertical Services) and university representatives: dr. hab. inż. Mariusz Kaczmarek, Gdańsk Tech prof. (Vice-Rector for Education), prof. dr. hab. inż. Jacek Stefański (Dean of WETI), and prof. dr. hab. inż. Andrzej Czyżewski (Head of the Department of Multimedia Systems, WETI).

The scholarships were awarded to Marina Galanina, Tomasz Piernicki, Sahar Seifzadeh, and Paweł Tumialis for their work in the following areas:

  • Marina Galanina, Tomasz Piernicki, Sahar Seifzadeh – an innovative AI-based speech transcription tool for patients with epilepsy,
  • Paweł Tumialis – optimization of neural networks for embedded systems,
  • Tomasz Piernicki, Sahar Seifzadeh – analysis of auditory stimuli in ASMR research.
