Our graduate winner of the Ministry of Science scholarships for outstanding young scientists
From December 1 to December 31, 2023, rectors of universities and directors of institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, research institutes, international institutes or other heads of entities specified in Article 7 (1) of the Law on Higher Education and Science presented the Minister of Science a total of 1,708 applications for scholarships for outstanding young scientists demonstrating significant achievements in scientific activity.
We are pleased to announce that one of the winners of the scholarships of the Minister of Science for outstanding young scientists in 2024 (edition 19) was Krzysztof Jerzy Pyrchla, MSc. -> graduate of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology in the engineering and technology area / materials engineering, who pursued PhD training from 2019 to 2024, under the supervision of prof. Robert Bogdanowicz. While he was pursuing his PhD training at the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology, he managed the Diamond Grant project devoted to the development of multiscale modeling of such structures, which will allow for their effective design. He was also a scholarship holder in the QUNNA project, within which he worked on ab initio simulations of the interaction of nanodiamonds with NV color centers with organic compounds and their effect on the fluorescence of these nanoparticles.
