[4th-5th-year PhD students] Extension of the deadline for submission of the dissertation | Gdańsk University of Technology

One-time extension is granted for the period indicated in the application, but not longer than one year. The total extension period shall not exceed two years.

NOTE! Deadline for the maximum extension period is approaching for PhD students who commenced their education in r.a. 2019/2020 (the first admission to the Doctoral School) and have received approval for an extension until a.d. 2024/2025. This means that if the dissertation is not submitted by the deadline established in the latest extension application, we will initiate proceedings to remove the student from the PhD students list.

Applications of the 4th and 5th-year PhD students interested in such an extension should be submitted by the MojaPG system from 2.06 to 30.09.2025 PhD students with an earlier date indicated in their IRP must do so well in advance, at least 2 weeks before this date, in order to avoid removal from the list of doctoral students as a result of failure to submit the dissertation on time), and provided that a PhD student has passed the doctoral exam (that is no later than on 15.06.2025 or – in case of failure in the first term - after 15.09.2025) and all subjects and other elements of PhD training required by the curriculum of the Doctoral School within the discipline of training.

Required documents, that need to be attached to the eDocument: 

• A template of the extension application - can be found on our website under -> PhD Students -> Formalities -> Download materials ->.Templates tab [please make sure to use an updated template]
• Update of the individual research proposal - updated IRP should include what was already done from the IRP which concerns 1-4 years of the study and published, all the research tasks planned for the extension period, milestones, defined outcomes and deadlines [please make sure to use an updated template] 
• Copy of the doctoral examination report 
• Report on the research conducted since the previous extension (in case of 2nd extension)
