Subarea: Heat Transfer and Energy Conversion

Research activities cover a wide range of subjects related to the heat and mass exchange processes considered on the theoretical and experimental plane, focused on the energy conversion processes optimization and intensification.

Research works:

  • Intensification of heat and mass exchange processes in a single- and two-phase flows, especially around the thermodynamic critical point - theoretical and experimental
  • Modern thermodynamic cycles for electricity production - theoretical and experimental
  • Energy storage - theoretical (experimental planned)
  • Passive methods of heat and mass transfer - experimental

Subarea: Renewable Energy

Research activities cover aspects of the implementation and application of the processes which enable energy and products recovery from the biomass and waste materials treatment.

Research works:

  • Waste energy management - theoretical and experimental.
  • Development of carbon dioxide into a useful product - theoretical and experimental.
  • Improving the energy balance of wastewater treatment and biogas production plants – theoretical – theoretical, technical and experimental.
  • Impact of waste products on the increase in the biogas production in frame of the co-fermentation process- theoretical and experimental.
