Medium of instruction: English

Programme description:

The essence of biotechnology is in new ideas that combine biological discovery with technology. The Professional Development programme for PhD candidates in biotechnology is designed to equip doctoral students with modern methodologies and inspire them with innovative, interdisciplinary thinking. The programme comprises obligatory and facultative courses covering fundamental and applied aspects of biotechnology, complemented by lectures delivered by visiting professors. Key topics include molecular biotechnology, bioengineering & bioprocessing & biomaterials, biomedical sciences, life sciences, drug discovery& development,  health & medicine, food science and technology.

The programme complements doctoral research by providing training in research integrity, data management, intellectual property, innovation and entrepreneurship, project management, and responsible conduct of research, skills in scientific communication, writing, presentation, teamwork, leadership, and career planning. Teaching practice and external internships further support comprehensive academic and professional development. Overall, the programme provides a solid background in biotechnology and encourages PhD candidates to develop independent research ideas, interdisciplinary approaches, and creative problem-solving skills.

Programme

Career opportunities:
