Legalization of stay in Poland - information meeting (October 9th)

welcome office
The International Relations Office invites all newly admitted, international, English-speaking students and doctoral students to an information meeting regarding the legalization of their stay in Poland (Monday, October 9th, at 4:00 PM).

Legalizing your stay is one of the first mandatory steps for newly admitted international students and doctoral students upon arriving in Poland. Gdańsk University of Technology offers support in this regard through the Welcome Office (part of the International Relations Office) - a service point for international students, doctoral students, and staff.

In mid-October, Welcome Office staff will conduct an informational meeting during which they will explain step by step the process of legalizing your stay in Poland.

Where and when will the meeting take place?

  • Date: Monday, October 9th
  • Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Location: Welcome Office (Building No. 11 - check the map)

Who is this meeting for?

We invite students, doctoral students, and staff who come from outside the Schengen Zone and whose stay in Poland will exceed the validity of their current visa. In particular, newly admitted students, doctoral students, and staff are encouraged to attend.

Is pre-registration required?

Yes, in order to participate in the meeting on October 16th, you must fill out an online form in advance.

What information will be provided at the meeting?

The meeting will be conducted by Katarzyna Bauer-Mikołajczyk, who works at Welcome Office and handles the assistance for international students, doctoral students and staff. During the event, you will learn about:

  • The procedure for legalizing the stay of students and staff from outside the EU.
  • Where to handle matters related to the legalization of your stay (in which office).
  • Which documents and deadlines need to be met.
  • How long the formalities related to legalizing your stay in Poland take.
  • Whether any fees are required to legalize your stay in Poland.

There will also be time for participants to ask questions.
