Get additional scholarship worth PLN 2500 for your Erasmus mobility
Going to study abroad is one of the most developing experiences. Therefore, Santander, in cooperation with Polish universities, including Gdańsk University of Technology, is recruiting for the second edition of the Santander Scholarship for Erasmus 2024 scholarship program.
The program offers 20 scholarships amounting to PLN 2500 for students from Gdańsk University of Technology to study abroad under the Erasmus+ program. Consequently, a student who receives this scholarship can count on funding from both the Erasmus+ Program and the Santander Scholarship.
Scholarship holders will be able to go to the following countries under the Erasmus+ program: European Union, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Serbia, Turkey, North Macedonia, whom Gdańsk University of Technology has signer contracts with (complete list of universities is available here). The mobility can last from 60 days up to 12 months and has to take place in the academic year 2024/2025.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
A student who plans to participate in Erasmus+ can apply for the scholarship. When applying for the scholarship, it does not matter at what stage of the procedure you are, whether you are just planning your trip, whether you have already been recruited or are in the process of completing the mobility formalities.
However, you must remember that the funding will only be paid to students who actually take part in the mobility. Therefore, before the announcement of the recruitment results for the Santander Scholarship (14 June), the student needs to have a confirmation that they were approved for the mobility at a partner university, and before the funding is paid, confirmation of that they have started the mobility at a foreign university.
What will be taken into consideration when evaluating the scholarship applications?
The award of scholarships will be based on the average grade for the entire academic year 2022/2023. Up to 20 students will be selected to receive scholarships. Additionally, there will be a standby list created in case any of the students resigns from the trip and therefore the scholarship.
What is the amount of the scholarship?
The scholarship amounts to PLN 2500, paid one time to the student’s account.
When will I receive the scholarship?
The student will receive the scholarship after going to study abroad. Within 14 days of arriving at a foreign university, the student must send an e-mail to International Relations Office, confirming that he or she has started studies at the partner university. The confirmation must be signed by the Erasmus+ program coordinator at the foreign university. The scholarship will be paid within 14 days from the date of delivery of a properly completed and signed confirmation of commencement of studies abroad.

What if I have to cancel my Erasmus trip? What happens with the scholarship?
If you receive a scholarship, but for some reason you have to resign from the trip (for private or other reasons), inform the International Relations Office as soon as possible. Perhaps someone on the standby list will be able to use your place. If you cancel your Erasmus trip, you will not receive the scholarship, however there are no other consequences.
What if I am qualified for the Santader Scholarship, but I do not receive consent from Gdańsk Tech to go on Erasmus?
In this case, you will not receive a scholarship, however there are no other consequences.
