ENHANCE PG: Project Receives Over PLN 1.45 Million NAWA Funding to Boost International Cooperation

Gdańsk University of Technology is implementing the “ENHANCE PG” project, which has been awarded PLN 1,458,994 under the “Support for European Universities” program, organized by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). The program is financed by the European Union as part of the project titled “Support for Alliances of European Universities” (FERS.01.05-IP.08-0219/23).

The objective of the “ENHANCE PG” project is to strengthen the educational, research, and institutional capacity of Gdańsk University of Technology through enhanced cooperation within the ENHANCE alliance and the implementation of the One Campus concept. The project supports the development of joint, innovative educational and training offers, the enhancement of competencies among students and staff, the internationalization of the university, and the building of sustainable strategic partnerships of Gdańsk Tech across Europe.

The project is addressed to the broadly defined academic community of universities associated within the ENHANCE alliance, including:

  • students and doctoral candidates,
  • academic teachers and early-career researchers,
  • administrative and technical staff,
  • university management staff.

Project Activities

As part of the project implementation, the following activities are planned, among others:

  • Peer learning for student and doctoral organizations: study visits (outgoing and incoming) for students and doctoral candidates involved in organizations (such as scientific clubs, associations, councils, etc.), aimed at developing competencies;
  • Study visits: outgoing and incoming mobility for staff of ENHANCE universities, primarily administrative personnel, focused on the exchange of experience and good practices;
  • Staff Week at Gdańsk University of Technology: a three-day training programme for staff from ENHANCE universities, including thematic workshops, competence development, and networking, leading to the award of micro-credentials;
  • ENHANCE Cross-border Mentoring Programme: a three-day on-site meeting of mentors and mentees concluding the mentoring programme for doctoral candidates and early-career researchers within the ENHANCE alliance;
  • ENHANCE Rectors’ Roundtable: a two-day meeting of Rectors and university management staff from ENHANCE universities dedicated to developing a shared vision and strategy for the Alliance;
  • Dissemination of knowledge and promotion of the ENHANCE alliance: information, consultation, and promotional activities addressed to students and staff of Gdańsk Tech, including the development of internal communication and substantive support.

Project duration: January 2026 – May 2027.

Project Outcomes

The implementation of the “ENHANCE PG” project will contribute to improving the quality of education and scientific research, as well as to the development of competencies among students, doctoral candidates, and staff of Gdańsk University of Technology. The project will strengthen the internationalization of the university’s educational and training offer and provide students, doctoral candidates, and staff with opportunities for networking within the ENHANCE academic community. As a result, the international visibility of Gdańsk University of Technology will increase, enhancing its attractiveness as a modern center for education and research.

The “ENHANCE PG” project represents another step by Gdańsk University of Technology toward building a strong, open, and international academic community. Thanks to the funding provided by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), the university will further develop innovative forms of education, strengthen cooperation with leading academic institutions in Europe, and create new development opportunities for students and staff.

The project is managed by Dr Eng. Justyna Lubośna, Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, Head of the ENHANCE Office. The project is implemented by the ENHANCE Office at Gdańsk University of Technology, with the support of faculties, the Doctoral School, and other units, including the Project Office at the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics, the Gdańsk Tech Library, and InterHub.
