About the event
The meeting combines a film screening with an expert lecture and a discussion (approx. 45–60 minutes). The main theme:
“Between Worlds: Value Conflict and Identity Crisis in the Face of Cultural Differences”
Topics we will explore include:
- lack of cultural identity and the experience of being a “guest” in another culture,
- cultural differences as barriers in communication,
- whether there is room for intuition and cultural sensitivity in a world dominated by science and data.
About the film
When Billi, living in New York, learns that her beloved grandmother Nai Nai is seriously ill, she wants to visit her immediately. However, the family decides to keep the truth from Nai Nai and organizes a fake wedding as a pretext for a family reunion. This unusual situation reveals tensions between different values, traditions, and worldviews.
