The internationalisation strategy at Gdańsk University of Technology was adopted in a regulation of the Senate on 21 June 2017. One of its main objectives (C1) is: to improve the system of study at Gdańsk University of Technology by ensuring a high quality of education, introducing flexible study plans and distance learning, and internationalising the services offered by the University. To achieve this objective, the University has opened a programme aimed at developing multicultural communication skills, which is addressed to university teachers who work with students from other countries.


Objectives of the programme

- to develop multicultural skills of university teachers who teach groups with students from abroad.
- to increase the chance to obtain international accreditations by the largest possible number of university units and study programmes.
- to carry out strategic task no. 6.6.4: provide English courses and courses in multicultural skills for employees. The University makes it possible for students and employees to improve their language skills.

 

Method

tutorials – individual sessions during which the tutor and the tutee determine the areas for improvement and an action plan. Meetings take place at a time convenient for both parties.

Tutor

Olga Ludyga – a specialist in the methodology of multicultural teaching. She specialises in teaching adults (designing effective courses and activating teaching methods), developing language skills and communication in English (including multicultural communication). She is a university teacher (courses: active learning, general teaching, effective learning methods), she conducts the “Integrated Development Programme of Gdańsk University of Technology” POWR.03.05.00-00-Z044/17, she conducts classes in Polish and in English, she is a Cambridge Assessment English examiner.
