Students eligible for mobility for studies/internships in the Erasmus+ programme (excluding graduate traineeships) with a disability confirmed by a disability certificate, may access funding under the project "International mobility for students with disabilities and those in difficult financial situation", implemented under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development PO WER (European Social Fund). The additional scholarships are intended to cover exceptional costs related to the special needs of disabled people during the trip.
Who can apply for the scholarship?
Only students with a disability certificate.
In what situations can you apply for a scholarship?
Additional funding for costs directly related to disability, without which no trip could be made and which are not provided by the host university/institution or are not financed from other sources will be granted in the following situations:
1. the disability requires special transport for the mobility participant to the destination (special transport costs)
2. the disability requires the support of the mobility participant by an accompanying person for part or all of the period of stay abroad. Travel costs of the accompanying person and costs related to the stay of the accompanying person (accommodation, food, local transport, etc.) will be charged as real costs (that is against financial records). The stay of the accompanying person excludes covering the costs of the local tutor.
3. the disability requires the support of the mobility participant by a professional local assistant (salary costs). The work of a professional local tutor excludes covering the costs of an accompanying person.
4. the disability requires the use of special teaching materials by the mobility participant in education/work at the host institution (costs of special teaching materials)
5. the disability requires special medical care for the mobility participant on the spot (costs of medical care, rehabilitation, medicines, without which the stay abroad would not be possible). The award of a grant in this category requires the submission of a medical certificate which will specify the necessary extent of special medical care.
6. the disability requires special insurance for the mobility participant (special insurance costs)
7. the disability requires other costs to be incurred by the participant of mobility, without which the mobility could not take place (this category requires documentation in the form of a recommendation from a disability authority or a doctor). For a student who has been granted the right to live in a separate room in a certificate, a maximum of 50% of the costs of renting a flat or a room may be subsidised.
What do I need to do to get a scholarship?
1. the student fills in an application for a scholarship2
2. the student submits the application to Gdańsk University of Technology Plenipotentiary for Persons with Disabilities with a request for an opinion
3. The student delivers the application approved by the Plenipotentiary to the Department for International Academic Cooperation (DMWA)
4. DMWA sends the application to the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE - Fundacja Rozwoju Systemu Edukacji) POWER, which decides whether to grant the scholarship
When should I apply for a scholarship?
At the latest 6 weeks before the planned departure.
Will I need invoices, receipts, tickets to prove the costs incurred?
Yes, the grant is accounted for after the mobility has been completed against financial records presented by the student - invoices, tickets, receipts and other documents (please keep them all).
How much scholarship can you receive?
The table below shows the final amounts the student will receive for the trip (that is the summed up Erasmus+ grant and additional grant). The student may apply for additional financing not included in the table, related to his/her special needs as a disabled person (it should be described in the application form). The final amount of the grant awarded is determined by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE) in Warsaw.
