A few drops - a sea of savings

Water is among the most important natural resources on Earth. It is therefore crucial to take action to protect its resources. According to the UN, more than 2 billion people currently live in areas where there is a risk of limited access to drinking water. By 2050, it is estimated that at least one in four people worldwide will live in a country experiencing chronic or periodic drinking water scarcity.

Water consumption is an important aspect of resource use at Gdansk University of Technology. It is related to the large number of students and employees visiting the campus every day and the need for proper sanitary hygiene. We are committed to significantly reduce water consumption.

Let's remember some simple rules:

  • Turn off the tap whenever possible.
  • Use only as much hot water as you really need. Use cold water as much as possible to flush dishes, for instance.
  • Choose the right flush button on the toilet.
  • Turn off the flow of running water in the lab when you are done.
  • If you see a dripping faucet, a blocked cistern or other malfunction - report it to your supervisor or to the building administrator.
