Gdansk University of Technology has been pursuing a policy of effective thermal energy conservation for many years. We perform high-cost activities, such as thermal modernization of buildings, replacement of window frames and modernization of heating systems.

The current situation mobilizes us to intensify savings measures
and reduce heat losses during the heating season.

We are convinced that each of us feels responsible for the welfare of our University.

Let's remember some simple rules:

  • Want to ventilate a room? Turn down the heater or turn off the air conditioner. Instead of tilting the window, open it wide. On autumn and winter days, it is better to ventilate briefly but intensively. However, do not make the room too cold.
  • A sunny day? Open the windows, allowing the sun's rays to naturally warm the room.
  • A cooler day? Choose appropriately warm clothing to keep you comfortable.
  • Lower the temperature in the room. It is important to maintain an optimal constant temperature.
  • Check that radiators are not covered or obstructed.
  • Remember to close windows in common areas: corridors, bathrooms, stairwells, basements.
  • Don't turn on electric heaters or fans.
  • Are you finishing work? Turn off the air conditioner, reduce the temperature of radiators.
  • See a malfunction, such as a radiator not working? Report to your supervisor or to the building administrator.
