How much is the application fee?

Application fee for registration to Bachelor or Master studies is 85 PLN, 150 PLN for Architecture. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.

How can I find accommodation at Gdańsk Tech?

The Gdańsk University of Technology has twelve Student Houses accommodating 3000 people and located in three districts

How often is the admission process open?

For Master studies Gdańsk Tech offers two intakes each year: for the winter semester (intake starts in May) and the summer semester (intake starts in November). For Bachelor studies Gdańsk Tech offers one intake each year: for the winter semester (intake starts in May).

My Secondary School / Matriculation Certificate needs a Legalization / Apostille. What does it mean?

Legalization / Apostille is the validation of the document for international usage. If the certificate was issued by the country which is a part to The Haque Convention – that means you need to provide Apostille, otherwise a legalization stamp by the Embassy of Republic of Poland in the country where the certificate was issued or Consul of your Country in Poland.

I need to undergo a secondary degree recognition procedure. What does it mean?

Gdansk Tech would like to emphasis the importance of a secondary degree recognition procedure. Please schedule your arrival 2 weeks before semester starting date, in order to finalize the official secondary degree recognition by Polish Authorities. The procedure takes approx. two weeks, is free of charge and to be proceeded at Gdańsk Education Authority. You will be guided by us how to finalize the formality, however please note that the process is needful to register to Gdańsk Tech and obtain student status. Please use the following links to familiarize yourself with the procedure and appropriate body:

Secondary Degree Certificates which are exempted from the recognition procedure are issued by China, Ukraine and EU, EEA or OECD member states, International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate. This rule concerns the following states: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA.

I was not accepted during the regular intake. May I take part in the additional intake for the same program?

Yes, you may, unless Gdańsk Tech opens the additional intake. Kindly choose the same program once again, pay the application fee and send all the documents required.

May I apply during the other time than stated in the admission schedule?

Unfortunately not. Please apply only during the active intake.

Can I apply for more than one study program?

Yes, indeed. During each intake Candidate can apply for all the programs they find interesting. The application fee will not change in such a case.

I am going to transfer to Gdańsk Tech from the other university. How should I do it?

A transfer is not a part of a recruitment process. Regarding transfer kindly inquire at the Registrar's office at the right faculty. Faculties' contact details can be found here.

How can I apply for a social scholarship?

You can apply for a social scholarship at the Student Affairs Office after immatriculation. Please visit the following website to find out more.

Which documents should I bring after successful admission?

After successful admission, during the registration weeks each Candidate should bring the original paper version + one copy of each document.

Where can I learn about an admission results?

Information on preliminary qualification results will be published on individual Candidates' accounts.

Which Polish language certificates do you acknowledge?

Starting from the intake for winter semester of AY 2024/25 Gdańsk Tech will acknowledge Polish state certificates only. Candidate can also pass our intramural Polish exam which we organize during each intake.

Should apply for studies in person?

Candidates apply for studies online. After successful admission, during the registration weeks each Candidate brings their documents in person.

I am a minor Candidate (under 18 yrs old). May I apply for studies?

Minor Candidates may apply provided they upload on their eRekrutacja account a declaration of a legal guardian.

Is that mandatory to present state examinations results (e.g. ЗНО, ЦТ, ЕГЭ) or a secondary school certificate is sufficient?

State examinations results are not mandatory however they are recalculated into higher number of points increasing a chance for a successful admission.

Do you require a medical certificate?

No, we do not.

What is the latest possible day of secondary degree recognition statement submission?

The latest possible day is the last day before the semester starts.

Is there any case when a non-Polish citizen can study in English and be exempted from the tuition fee paying?

NAWA scholarship beneficiary may be exempted from the tuition fee paying.

Does Gdańsk Tech have student houses?

Yes, it does. Foreign Students may choose accommodation in one of our dormitories, a private dorm or rent a private room/apartment. Student houses are conveniently located within 20-minutes walking distance from the campus.

Is the tap water in Gdańsk potable?

Yes, you can drink tap water in Gdańsk without boiling it or use it for cooking.

Does Gdańsk Tech provide its Students with catering services?

On the campus one can find numerous bistros and restaurants as well as vending machines. In the dormitories there is a kitchen and dining room available on each floor.

What should I know regarding my stay in the dormitory?

Price is dependent on a student house and room standard but the highest possible fee is currently 650 PLN. Each Student pays a deposit of 500 PLN which is refundable provided there is no damage made to the room or the other area. Students pay for the dormitory online after receiving an invoice on their MojaPG account (10th calendar day of each month). Due to the extraordinarily large number of applications Gdańsk Tech cannot offer single rooms.
Each room is equipped with 2 or 3 beds, desk, wardrobe and a fridge. In each dormitory there is a quiet room for studying. After arrival each person receives bed linen, pillow and a blanket. You can find a laundry room in each house. You should also have your own towels, dishes and cutlery. There is a LAN network so it is good to bring your own wire. Our dorms are heated through the central heating, if there is any technical issue, just let the receptionist know.
Student houses are open 24/7/365 and you can arrive anytime however night silence starts at 10 pm.
