The ‘Talented from Pomerania - Gdańsk University of Technology’ project is implemented by the Self-government of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in partnership with Gdańsk University of Technology as part of the Regional Operational Program for the Pomeranian Voivodeship for 2014-2020 (in accordance with the Resolution of the Board of the Pomeranian Voivodeship No. 1228/192/16 of November 29, 2016 r.). The amount of funding received is PLN 1 572 586.77.
The goal of the ‘Talented from Pomerania - Gdańsk University of Technology’ project is to support gifted students from grades VII and VIII of primary schools, and from secondary schools in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in the fields of physics, computer science and mathematics, as well as biology and chemistry.
As part of the project, so-called academic forms of support are implemented. These include: academic meetings, thematic workshops, extracurricular academic activities (Olympic circles), e-learning courses and mentoring.
It is a university-wide project. Employees of various units are involved in the preparation and implementation of individual activities, in particular the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics and the Center for Mathematics Teaching and Distance Learning Centre.
