Monitoring the professional career of graduates of Gdańsk University of Technology

is one of the main tasks carried out as part of the University System of the Assurance and Improvement of Education Quality. The aim of the study is to find out the opinions of university graduates about completed studies, including the usefulness of knowledge and skills acquired in the education process, and to obtain information on their current situation on the labour market, primarily in terms of compliance of employment with the level and speciality of completed studies.

The monitoring covers BSc and MSc graduates, both full-time and part-time, within 2 years of graduation.

The study uses a quantitative method using a survey technique. The answers provided are confidential and the results of the survey are presented in the form of summary statements and general conclusions.

Examining the professional careers of graduates helps to improve the didactic offer of the University and to adapt fields of study and education programs to the needs of the labour market.

In addition to the conducted research on the career of graduates, Gdańsk University of Technology conducted in 2017 an opinion survey of entrepreneurs on the competences of university graduates, the results of which can be a valuable source of information in the area of effective selection of the content of education in terms of competences for which there is a demand on the labour market.
