The Careers Office of the Gdańsk University of Technology, in the period: 01.05.2019 - 31.03.2021, implemented the project International Alumni - Join the network. Activities supporting the establishment of cooperation with foreign graduates of the Gdańsk University of Technology, which was financed from the funds of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (co-financing amount: 32 604 PLN).

International students at GUT

The aim of the project was to create a community of foreign graduates of Gdańsk University of Technology and build a system to support and develop their activity in business, academic, cultural, public, and social fields. The project was also meant to initiate activities in the field of long-term brand building and promotion of the university abroad.

The project included:

- a survey among foreign graduates with the purpose of building lasting, mutual relations between the University and foreign graduates and establishing mutual cooperation; the aim of this survey was to gather opinions on the time of studying at the University and on the situation of foreign graduates on the labour market; a report was created and made available on the university's website;

- extending the Electronic Book of Graduates (a tool for contacts with/between graduates) and adapting it to the needs of foreign graduates, including English translation, the introduction of an internal chat for registered users, possibility of publishing posts;

- developing and publishing a guide for foreign students (paper and electronic versions) aimed at supporting their adaptation in Poland: at the university, when moving around the offices, institutions, and when dealing with matters related to the studies or taking up work; the Guide was developed in cooperation with foreign graduates and based in part on information obtained from graduates during the survey;
