Gdańsk University of Technology visits India
Gdańsk University of Technology delegation visited India in October 19-26 to strengthen partnerships and establish new collaborative initiatives with leading Indian institutions.

The delegation, consisting of Prof. Christian Jungnickel, Rectors Representative for Cooperation with Asian Higher Education Institutions, Prof. Michal Tomczak, Vice Dean for Cooperation and Development of the Faculty of Management and Economics, and Monika Czerepak, Deputy Director of the International Relations Office, engaged with multiple universities and agencies, focusing on student exchange programs, research collaborations, and academic partnerships.

Lovely Professional University (LPU)

At Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, Gdańsk Tech had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a student exchange agreement, opening doors for students from both institutions to participate in academic exchanges. The delegation also attended the "Global Horizons" conference, where they networked with representatives from the University of Sunderland and Curtin University. Discussions the Chancellor of LPU, Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal, MP (Rajya Sabha), and the Vice Director for Internationalization of LPU, Dr Aman Mittal, provided insights into LPU's emphasis on vocational training and the potential for expanding research. The team also met with Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Saxena from LPU's Department of Research, a centralized unit that fosters research collaborations and manages external research engagements. Prof. Michal Tomczak presented a lecture on neurodiversity to a group of students.

Europe Studies Center (ESC) – Delhi Branch

In Delhi, Gdańsk Tech team connected with Prof. Shamama Ahmed at the Europe Studies Center (ESC), an agency that recruits Indian and South Asian students for European undergraduate and postgraduate studies. ESC focuses on supporting visa processing to make studying in Poland more accessible and appealing for students from the region.

Delhi Technological University (DTU)

At Delhi Technological University, the delegation met with Prof. Pravir Kumar, Dean for Internationalization. Discussions centered on fostering collaboration through tangible actions, such as co-authoring research papers and engaging in joint projects. Prof. Kumar emphasized DTU's commitment to creating purposeful partnerships that favor practical outcomes over symbolic agreements.

Shiv Nadar University (SNU)

The delegation's visit to Shiv Nadar University included discussions with Dr. Suneet Tuli, Dean of Research and Partnerships, and Prof. Bimiesh Lochab, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry. Together, they outlined a framework for student research internships, allowing final-year Bachelor's and Master's students to complete project work at partner institutions. Additional initiatives include short-term summer school programs and co-sponsored research funds to promote mobility and interdisciplinary research between Gdańsk Tech and SNU.

This visit to India underscored Gdańsk Tech's dedication to fostering meaningful international partnerships. The newly signed agreements and shared commitments to academic exchange and research collaboration reflect Gdańsk Tech's broader goal of strengthening ties with leading institutions in India and providing enriching experiences for students and faculty.
