About the meeting
Gdańsk is a city for everyone – we believe in this and, together with many local organizations, we strive to take various actions that help prevent discrimination and hate violence.
We achieve this goal not only through social campaigns, training, and workshops but, most importantly, by spreading knowledge and building and reinforcing the awareness that anyone who has experienced discrimination can reach out to the Gdańsk Equal Treatment Centre and receive free and efficient help, which we will design together. Our goal is that no one is left without help – abandoned with their harm and humiliation.
For many years, we have been actively promoting equal rights and raising awareness about the opposition to hate speech and discrimination based on the following grounds: race/ethnicity, gender, age, health/disability, psychosexual orientation, religion/non-religion, or economic situation.
From the very beginning of our work on the Equal Treatment Model, our dream has been to build a society where there is no room for any "Yes, BUT..." when it comes to such fundamental rights as human rights, the right to equal treatment, which is a right, not a privilege...
During this meeting, we will try to highlight the diverse aspects of equal treatment in relation to statutory grounds. We will take a closer look at the cases that have reached the Gdańsk Equal Treatment Centre in recent years and jointly identify which aspects related to the broad issue of equal treatment and anti-discrimination concern each and every one of us.
