Open Access Research Papers Initiative launched in 2018 by cOAlition S, a consortium of national research agencies and sponsors from European countries. Plan S aims at full and immediate open access to peer-reviewed scientific publications from publicly funded research.
Plan S takes into account different ways of introducing open access, and the consulted guidelines propose organizational, technical and legal conditions that must be met by journals or repositories. In September 2018, the National Science Center joined cOAlition S. On 27 May 2020, the Open Access policy was introduced in accordance with the Director's Ordinance No. 38/2020, amended by Order No. 40/2020.
