The database of copyright and Open Access self-archiving policies of Polish scientific journals is a project carried out since 2018 by employees of the Gdańsk University of Technology Library. The purpose of the database is to collect and analyze publishing policies regarding open access, copyright management and the use of publication content by both authors and users. The information on the platform is presented in full compliance with the assumptions adopted by the editorial staff and publisher of the journal. Data is collected based on publicly available information as well as direct contact with the editorial office or publisher. The purpose of the contact is to obtain and supplement information necessary for an accurate and reliable presentation of the journal's profile in the database.

The tool is part of the BRIDGE of Knowledge portal, is non-commercial and is available to all users free of charge. The target audience of the database are mainly members of the research community: academics, PhD students, and students. The database is also an easy-to-use tool that allows academic librarians, especially those involved in the development of institutional repositories, to define the principles of the Green Open Access.
