Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Safety Department is responsible for:
• control of working and teaching conditions and compliance with the rules and regulations on health, safety and fire protection,
• keeping university authorities and heads of organizational units informed on the identified threats together with indicating solutions to remove them,
• submitting conclusions regarding health and safety requirements and fire protection for the developed assumptions and documentation for the modernization of facilities and workplaces together with instructions, as well as participation in the assessment of this documentation and handing over the facilities for use,
• advice on the application of the provisions and principles of health and safety and fire protection,
• preparation of internal regulations on matters of safety, health at work and fire protection,
• giving opinions on detailed instructions on occupational health and safety and fire protection at individual work stations,
• participation in accident investigations, development of the conclusions resulting from examining the causes and circumstances of accidents at work and occupational diseases and controlling the implementation of these conclusions, keeping records and storing other documents,
• participation in the assessment of occupational risk related to the performed work,
• cooperation with the Company and Branch Social Labour Inspectors as well as a healthcare practitioner in the field of improving working conditions and preventive medicine for employees,
• participation in the work of the occupational health and safety committee,
• cooperation with the authorities of the State Sanitary Inspection, the National Labour Inspectorate and the State Fire Service in the field of improving working and learning conditions and fire protection,
• conducting initial training for new employees and organizing periodic training in the field of occupational health and safety.
