CV

Try to prepare all application documents from the employer's perspective, and consider whether the information will be helpful to the employer, whether relevant to the offered position. A recruiter spends very little time analyzing a single document. It is worth writing a CV so that the essential information can be found easily.

Describing qualifications and career history, use moderation and common sense. Suppose there is a lack of professional experience. In that case, it is worth enriching a CV with other information, for example, regarding voluntary work or personal qualities and projects. On the other hand, you have comprehensive and varied professional experience. You should select and describe those jobs and positions in detail relevant to the job you are applying for and only mention the others.

Worth remembering!

  1. It is good if the CV takes one A4 page (maximum 2) - we rely on specifics. The quality is crucial, not the quantity of information provided.
  2. The coherent message, clear page layout (division into parts, highlighting the most important information), legible font - preferably 10-12 points; Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, Times New Roman.
  3. No mistakes (stylistic, spelling, logical).
  4. Provide only truthful information (during an interview, you will have to convince the employer that you provided truthful information).
  5. Preparing your CV, analyze your strengths (skills, achievements, experience) regarding the position's requirements. Employer - let the employer find in your CV what they want to read.
  6. Do not expect the employer to guess what you mean - make the information in the document clear and understandable.
  7. Send the CV via e-mail in a suitable format, preferably PDF.

Cover letter

Before begin writing a cover letter, consider the following questions:

  • Why do I want to work in this position?
  • Why do I want to work for this employer?
  • Why should the employer choose me?
  • What can I offer?
  • Which of the employer's values do I identify with?
  • Why do I want to develop professionally in this industry?

Consider what added value you can bring to the company and be credible!

Explain why you think you are, for example, flexible and open to change. You can do this by writing: "Thanks to numerous international trips, I assimilate quickly to the new environment and accept the prevailing rules" or "Volunteering at a foundation, where I was responsible for building relations with sponsors, made me open to new solutions and forms of cooperation."

For example, if you can work in a team, give examples of group projects you have completed. Presenting the context of your strengths contributes to building the image of a credible candidate.

Before you send your documents to an employer, ask someone to read them and make any comments. When you read your documents several times, you often do not notice simple mistakes.

Creating your application documents, remember to present yourself in the best possible way!
