Due to numerous inquiries from foreign partner universities, Gdańsk University of Technology authorities ensure that the situation related to Russia's attack on Ukraine does not affect the university's activities in the field of international cooperation under the Erasmus+ program. Mobility takes place according to the current rules, and foreign employees and students coming to Poland can feel safe.

The Polish authorities unequivocally and categorically condemned the armed attack by Russia on Ukraine. It was expressed in the position of the President of the Republic of Poland and in the announcements published by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Polish government, as well as Polish citizens, support the Ukrainian nation in these tragic days.

Gdańsk University of Technology also actively helps women refugees from Ukraine by organizing the collection of the most necessary things (clothes, cleaning products, food). All items collected in this way will be transferred to one of the dormitories of the Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech), where the inhabitants of Ukraine will find shelter, fleeing the war.

International mobility

Security of Poland as a member of international cooperation networks, including The European Union (EU), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) and the United Nations (UN) are guaranteed by international treaties and agreements.

With this in mind, Gdańsk University of Technology, despite the difficult international situation, continues the implementation of the Erasmus+ program. Mobility with both program and partner countries takes place without any obstacles and on the same terms. All interinstitutional agreements concluded under Erasmus+ remain valid.

Employees and students from abroad who come to Gdańsk can feel safe. The international situation caused by the war in Ukraine does not have a direct impact on air traffic from EU and other countries (except Russia), the rules of traveling to and from Poland for citizens of the EU and other countries (except Russia) have not changed. In Poland, due to the international situation, no special regulations limiting everyday functioning have been introduced.

Studies at Gdańsk University of Technology are carried out according to the existing rules. Due to the improvement of the epidemic situation in Poland, the vast majority of classes are held stationary. The activities of student organizations and research clubs are continued, scientific conferences, job fairs for future engineers and other events are organized. Students studying at Gdańsk University of Technology under the Erasmus+ program and living in dormitories are provided with accommodation on the current terms.

Gdańsk Tech International Relations Office is also in constant contact with international students, including students studying at Gdańsk Tech under the Erasmus+ program.

In case of questions, we encourage partner universities to contact the International Relations Office at international@pg.edu.pl
