Applications are accepted until March 29. Erasmus+ funding is available for the trip.

Location

On-site classes will be held at the University of Porto in Portugal.

Duration

The summer school will last for 6 weeks (divided into online and on-site sessions in Portugal):

  • June 3-14: Online sessions
  • June 17-21: On-site sessions in Porto, Portugal
  • June 26-July 12: Online sessions

Who can participate?

Master's and PhD students interested in engineering, technology, or science who want to complement their knowledge in the field of the circular economy.

Program

The summer school program is divided into 3 parts:

  • Online sessions with experts in the field of the circular economy and gamification elements.
  • On-site sessions in Porto including study visits, lectures, workshops, group work, case study analysis, etc.
  • Online presentations summarizing the program.

During the summer school, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of the circular economy, its principles, actions, and models.
  • Analyze current circular economy models based on practical cases.
  • Identify opportunities to improve current processes and products in the context of creating circular economies.
  • Develop soft skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, leadership, and teamwork.

Cost

Students and PhD students from Gdańsk Tech are exempt from tuition fees for the summer school. Participants are responsible for covering the costs of participating in the on-site part of the summer school in Portugal, including transportation, accommodation, partial meals, certificate (5 euros), and insurance (2 euros). Participants can receive an Erasmus+ scholarship from Gdańsk Tech amounting to 70 euros per day (for on-site sessions in Porto, i.e., 5 days x 70 euros per day = 350 euros scholarship).

How to register?

Students register individually. Applications for the summer school are accepted through an online form. The application should include information about education, CV, and a cover letter. The results of the recruitment process will be announced by April 12. Students accepted to participate in the summer school will then need to go through the Erasmus+ departure procedure at Gdańsk Tech (only then will they receive the scholarship).
