The ship's demagnetization device (OUD) is designed to compensate for the induced and permanent magnetization of the ship by generating signals controlling the converters supplying the compensation windings. The device enables independent regulation of the currents of the ship's compensation windings.
There are marine demagnetization devices on the MW ships, designed and manufactured by specialists from the Gdańsk University of Technology:
- AUD IV type on ship with side number 251,
- AUD 2000 type on ships with side numbers: 262, 263, 421, 422, 423, 511, 621, 623, 624,
- AUD type on ships with side numbers: 281, 282, SD-11, SD-13,
- AUD-2 type on ships with side numbers: 821, 822, 823, 824, 825,
- EKD-207 type on ships with side numbers: 630, 631, 632, 633, 634, 635, 636, 637, 638, 639, 640, 641, 642, 643, 644, 645, 646.
In the years 2009-2016, the ship's ship demagnetization device (OUD) was modified:
- to EKD-207M on 14 type 207 ships with side numbers: 631, 633-640, 642-646,
- to AUD-2M on 4 ships of type 767 with side numbers: 821-824,
- to AUD2000 on type 874 with side number 265.
The CMTM Ship's Passive Defense Team is the supplier of the OUD system on the project ship 621 "Ślązak" with side number 241.
