Simple search

1. Journal title or ISSN

If you want to search for a specific journal in the database of publishing policies of Polish scientific journals and you know a title or an ISSN, simply go to the MOST Wiedzy and enter the title of the journal or its ISSN in the search window.

After confirming, the title you are looking for will be shown in the results. By clicking on the title, you go to the journal’s detailed record containing the data stored in the database.

An alternative way to find a journal whose title or ISSN you know is to search for it on the Journal Catalogue list. Just like previously, go to the MOST Wiedzy and select Journals in the knowledge catalogue.

After confirming, the Journal Catalogue will appear in the form of an alphabetical list. To facilitate browsing the long list of titles, you can use the alphabetical grouping of the journal database at the bottom of the page.

By selecting a letter of the alphabet, you go to the list of journal titles beginning with that letter. Next, select the title you are looking for and go to its record.

2. Publisher or supervisory institution

If you only know the publishing house or supervisory institution, the search process for the journal you are looking for is as follows: on the MOST Wiedzy, select Publishers from the knowledge catalogue.

After the Publisher Catalogue appears, select a Publisher from the list. Confirm and go to the list of journals published by the Publisher and choose a journal title.

Advanced search with filters

Searching with filters is most effective for potential authors looking for journals with a corresponding publishing policy.

As explained above, go to the MOST Wiedzy page and select Journals in the knowledge catalogue. In the journal catalogue on the left side of the screen, you will find faceted search filters. The use of individual filters is not obligatory.

Filters:

  • Discipline – choose from the seven proposed domains. You can expand the filtering for disciplines using the drop-down symbol (+) or keep the selected discipline
  • Ministerial points – in the fields, enter numerical values in the proposed range
  • Ministerial points list – you can choose according to the status of the journal against the ministerial list
  • Citescore (Scopus indicator) – choose numerical values in the proposed range
  • Model – select your preferred journal model
  • Licence – select your preferred licences. This filter applies only to Polish journals, as the Journal Catalogue also includes profiles of foreign journals. To restrict the selection to Polish titles, mark all licences
  • Journals with publications – this filter allows you to select journals with attached publications. Publications are reported by authors affiliated with the Gdańsk Tech or persons with an account at the MOST Wiedzy

After selecting and accepting specific filtering elements in the catalogue, you will get a list of journals based on the selected criteria.

Example of a journal search

You are looking for a journal with the following parameters:

  • scope of disciplines: automation, electrotechnics, civil engineering and transport
  • score: 70 on the Ministerial List
  • open access (OA) journal
  • average citation rate: 2.4
  • licence: CC BY 4.0
  • publications in the MOST Wiedzy

Go to the MOST Wiedzy website and select Journals in the knowledge catalogue. Select the journal parameters you are looking for in the journal catalogue on the left side of the screen in the faceted search filters.

After filtering, one journal meeting the above criteria is displayed.

Confirm and go to the detailed record of the journal.
