Semi-annual summary of IDUB programs under the EkoTech Center in the Year 2024

EkoTech

The Initiative for Excellence University of Research (IDUB) program at Gdansk University of Technology is an important pillar supporting the development of research, innovation and education. In 2024, the EkoTech Center continued its activities, encouraging researchers, doctoral students and students to apply for research project funding.

In the first half of 2024, grants were awarded for a total of PLN 4,076,845.81. The most popular and also the most beneficial for research was the Argentum Triggering Research Grants project, with about PLN 1.8 million awarded under the EkoTech Center.

Fifteen beneficiaries went on internships abroad under the mobility programs: Americium and Europium. Thanks to grants from the Palladium program, the following will be purchased: equipment to expand the research capabilities of the LINTE^2 laboratory, as well as a module for fatigue testing and a device for measuring pavement roughness, and others.

In the calls resolved in 2024, the EkoTech Center awarded 60 projects (*some applications were submitted in 2023). The efficiency of grant acquisition is presented in the chart below.

Activities under the IDUB PG EkoTech Center in 2024 contributed to the development of scientific research and the strengthening of cooperation between academics with foreign universities and scientific institutions.

Events

On June 6, 2024, a workshop “Innovative NBS for resilient cities” was held, organized by a team led by Prof. Magdalena Gajewska (coordinator of the EcoTech center council) within the framework of the NICE project (Horizon 2020), and under the aegis of EU Green Week and at the same time one of the events celebrating the 120th anniversary of Gdańsk Tech. The purpose of the event was to share experiences related to the implementation of nature-based solutions in urban spaces.
