The objective of the Team Research Project is to conduct a process wherein students will verify a research hypothesis posed by the client. This project may require the creation of a product, such as an application or device, and conducting appropriate research, analyzing results, etc. If the university/client provides confidential information (including data), students will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the information shared.

For projects with a research hypothesis, the mandatory outcome is a report in the form of a publication formatted according to the IEEE/Elsevier template, prepared in English. For application projects, a report in the form of a patent application is also acceptable.

The implementation of the research project is documented in the Moja PG/ZPB electronic system (https://moja.pg.edu.pl/auth/appjs/research-projects) through the following steps:

  1. Defining the topic and research hypothesis.
  2. Defining the schedule by specifying stages with control dates. The stages should correspond to tasks leading to the verification of the research hypothesis, such as: data collection, data preparation/normalization/processing, algorithm/solution design, solution implementation, conducting experiments, result analysis, hypothesis verification based on obtained results, and publication/report.
  3. Interim reports documenting the achievement of schedule stages.
  4. Preparation of a poster (in Polish and English) after the first and second semesters, informing about the executors, basic tasks, and achieved results.
  5. Preparation of a report in the form of a publication according to the template (IEEE, Elsevier) in English, or a report in the form of a patent application.

If the project results in an outcome that can be used in further research by the university or company (including, for example, an application used for research and hypothesis verification), and if the university or company and students express such intent, an agreement is made to transfer the proprietary rights to the results obtained (at the end of the research project).
