The Doctoral Student Government of Gdańsk Tech (DSG) represents all participants of the Doctoral School and the Implementation Doctoral School at Gdańsk Tech. It is the voice of the doctoral community within the University, as well as a space for action, developing initiatives, integration, and co-creating academic life.
The Government safeguards the rights and interests of doctoral students, presents their opinions and needs to the University authorities, and participates in decision-making on matters important to the academic community. Its representatives sit, among others, in the Senate of Gdańsk Tech and Senate committees.
What Does the Doctoral Student Government Do?
SDPG operates in many areas – from representing doctoral students and supporting them in matters related to education, to initiating scientific, cultural, sports, and integration events.
The main tasks of the Student Government include:
- representing the interests of doctoral students within the University and beyond,
- protecting the rights of participants in doctoral schools,
- providing opinions on matters concerning the doctoral community,
- submitting initiatives and proposals to the authorities of Gdańsk Tech,

How does Doctoral Student Government work?
The most important decisions regarding the activities of the Doctoral Student Government are made by the University Doctoral Council, which consists of delegates from individual scientific disciplines.
The current activities are managed by the Doctoral Student Government Board, and the doctoral student community is represented by the Chairperson of the Doctoral Student Government.
Within the DSGT, there are also committees and boards through which doctoral students can engage in specific areas of academic life.
Science, Integration, and Activity
- The Committee for Funding Scientific Events supports doctoral students participating in conferences and other scientific events within the funding program.
- The Committee for Cultural Events and Integration is responsible for initiatives that help build the doctoral community, get to know each other beyond the lecture hall, and develop interests.
- The Sports Committee promotes physical activity and carries out actions related, inter alia, to the Multisport funding program.
Doctoral students can also take advantage of the wider offer of Gdańsk Tech, including joining sports clubs or the Gdańsk Tech Choir.
