Admissions to the Doctoral School for the AY 2023/2024
We would like to inform you that the standard admission for AY. 2023/2024 to the Doctoral School conducted jointly by the Gdańsk University of Technology and the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Hydro-Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences will start in mid-April 2023 and end in early May 2023 (acceptance of documents).
The new enrollment will include 14 disciplines, and for the first time discipline chemical engineering. Due to the results of the evaluation, there will be no admission to the Institute of Hydro-Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences (civil engineering, geodesy and transport) this year.
The number of places per discipline, including for foreigners, will be determined by the Rector's Decree, based, among other things, on the results of a survey conducted among academic teachers interested in supervising candidates at the school (recruitment of potential supervisors).
We are preliminarily planning an online meeting with the candidates at the beginning of April. The B2 level English exam will take place in the second decade of April this year. Interviews with candidates are most likely to take place in the second decade of May 2023, with the announcement of results in mid-June 2023.
Candidates admitted to the school will start A.Y. 2023/2024 on October 2, 2023. We will wait for foreigners' arrivals until 31 October (in the case of applying for dormitory places), up to 30 November (without dormitory places).
According to the Doctoral School Admission Rules at Gdańsk University of Technology:
"The Doctoral School may admit persons holding the title of a Master of Science, Master of Science in Engineering or an equivalent, or a diploma entitling to apply for a doctoral degree. If the diploma has not been issued yet, the candidate should present a certificate from the university confirming the defense of the thesis. If the diploma has not been issued due to waiting for the thesis defense date, the candidate should submit an appropriate declaration. In such case, the candidate may join the recruitment only conditionally, and their admission to the School will be possible provided that the diploma is delivered by the time of matriculation."
